NK- 08/10/2009 - PhpMyAdmin on Debian : sometimes the tiniest thing can make a huge mess

At first I didn't understand, I properly installed Apache2, MySQL and PhpMyAdmin on my new server, but PhpMyAdmin wouldn't get to work...
2 months passed, and I found the solution, ahem, shame on me... I actually didn't create the symbolic link to make it work...

Sometimes, the tiniest thing can make the biggest mess, so here is the faulty line I didn't write :

ln -s /usr/share/phpmyadmin /var/www/phpmyadmin

Oh, what a surprise, it works... MEGA-AHEM

NK- 30/09/2009 - Google Street View : The way it works

You might have tried Google Street View once, you know, this nice feature Google offered, allowing you to entirely view some cities in photo !
<<<>>>
Here is a little video, made by Google Japan, explaining the way it works, in a cartoon format.

So to make short, Google went with their Google Camera Cars (by Immersive Media, a technology allowing to make a 360° view from a given point in a street) in some cities in the world (and even Disneyland Paris :P) to shoot everything and put it on the web.
Google Camera Car

However, this project is not liked by everyone, mainly because of confidentiality and privacy problems... Indeed, when you look at a photo, you can see people doing actions, and in case those people didn't have to be there at that very time, it causes problems... as well, you can see cars, houses' insides...
There was some shots like robberies, people in bikinies, adults going into sex shops which were published, and it provoked critiks coming from Privacy International for example.
Google answered to that problem with a solution, as shown in the video. When there is a problem, people faces, cars and everythings else being private, are blurred. In Europe, Google had to setup an auto-face-blurring program, in the USA, the White House's photos are highly hidden, and if someone doesn't want his house to appear, Google simply deletes it...

Of course, people tried to sue Google, mainly in the USA where it's so easy to do so. In Pittsburg, some people sued Google because their cameras filmed their house, and they won (it's forbidden to shoot from a public area), in Alaska, some people put twice a plastic bag on the cameras, some cities like Broughton have even forbidden Google to enter their cities !!

To conclude, this service is not well received by everybody... even if this service is really practical if you have to find the place where a friend of yours lives, your new workplace or the hotel of your next holidays, it's as well useful if you want to check if your girlfriend/boyfriend doesn't visit another boyfriend/girlfriend... and as well, if you live in America, as this is a public service, this is still nice to make some money by suing them :P

NK- 30/09/2009 - Desert Roses

Here is a small recipe for a nice desert I sometimes make...
<<<>>>
Ingredients :
- 75 g of corn-flakes
- 30 g of butter
- 1 soup-spoon of honey
- 75 g of desert chocolate

Desert Roses - Zoom
There is one missing, my girlfriend ate it :P

Preparation :
Put the butter and the chocolate in the microwave-oven with one coffee-spoon of water for 1 minute.
Add the honey and mix everything until you get a nice looking paste.
Add the corn-flakes and turn slowly to try not to break them.
Once the corn-flakes have a lot of chocolate on them, take a soup-spoon and put the mix on a plate on which you have put some butter (otherwise it will stick to the plate) - you should have about 10 desert roses.
Put it about 1 hour in the fridge before you eat them all (yes yes), leave them in the fridge if you like them cold !
